What is Naturopathy?
Naturopathy is a science based on the philosophy that honors the body’s innate ability to heal itself if given the right conditions. My role as a Naturopath is to ensure the right conditions exist in each patient.
Good health is essential to your well-being, happiness and your ability to
Live your life to its full potential
Naturopathy is a powerful way to achieve good health and to prevent ill health.
Naturopaths treat acute and chronic conditions and are specialists in preventative medicine. A Naturopath will work with other Healthcare professionals involved in your health treatment.
A Naturopath will involve the patient in their healing process by allowing time to listen to their patient, discussing the concepts involved in naturopathy and educating, so the patient feels understood and empowered. Naturopathy places your health back in your hands.
Treatments are individual with physical, mental and emotional aspects of your health taken into account with your treatment. A range of modalities may be used to support the body’s healing process. These may include dietary changes, supplementation, herbal medicine, homoeopathy, Bach flowers, lifestyle advice and massage.
A Naturopathic consultation will involve a detailed case history considering health status, genetic predisposition, diet, lifestyle, environment, symptoms and desired outcome. Diagnostic techniques such as iridology, urine analysis, blood tests, hair analysis, blood type testing, Zinc tally, chemical and food sensitivity testing may also be used.
Naturopathy is guided by six foundational principles which include:
- The healing power of Nature
- First do no harm
- Find and treat the cause, not only the symptom.
